Magnus Olseson 8000 Series Chair
The 8000 Series Chair was designed by Danish designers Rud Thygesen and Johnny Sørensen in 1980 and produced by Magnus Oleson from 1981 onwards.
For those of us who love construction details, the side and back legs are a patented combination of solid and laminated beech that form a screwless connection to the seat.
The unusual leg arrangement (with a central leg at the front) makes it a great option for placing in the corner of a room, or at a table. This also allows the three back legs to support a 180º sweeping back rest.
The design is reminiscent of Alvar Aalto, but with a nod to post-modernism. It balances sculptural form, clever engineering, and everyday functionality.
62cm x 62 cm x 71 cm
Condition: Very good vintage condition with some knocks and wear consistent with age and previous use, which add character to this collectible piece. Fully stable and ready to use.
This example has a durable black laminated seat.
