About Hester

Hester is a design practice founded by Anna Chipperfield and Lizzie Hannaford, working across interior architecture, interiors, furniture and objects.

With backgrounds in architecture, design and property renovation, we approach each project with an interest in how people live, how existing buildings can be thoughtfully adapted, and how materials, craftsmanship and design provenance can inform contemporary spaces.

We work primarily on residential projects, from individual pieces of furniture, rooms and kitchens to whole-house renovations and alterations.

Alongside our design work, we have a shared interest in furniture and objects of the 20th century. We source, restore and sell pieces that we believe have enduring qualities of design, craftsmanship and material, and that continue to have a place in contemporary life.

Anna and Lizzie are available for residential design projects, commissions and collaborations.
