A striking postmodern chair designed by Danish designer Verner Panton for IKEA. The Vilbert was introduced in 1993 and produced for just two years, with an estimated 3,000–4,000 examples made, making it a rare and highly collectible piece from IKEA’s 1990s repertoire.
Constructed from four boldly geometric, melamine-coated MDF panels, the chair is assembled to create a sculptural, angular form.
This example retains its original IKEA label to the underside and is in fantastic condition, with particularly clean surfaces and crisp, well-preserved edgebanding.
