About the artist:
Cecil Skotnes 1926 to 2009. Born and lived most of his life in South Africa but studied art in Florence at the end of WW2. He ran the Polly Street Art Centre in Johannesburg. His work is known for woodcut prints and decorated woodcut blocks.
